These pictures are a justification to act in ways I have convinced myself that I shouldn't. My process begins in a frenzy that morphs into a flow state. I create and become characters that embody an imperfection I aspire to. I call them characters to distance myself from their actions even though their actions are my own. Every good lie bears a degree of truth. Through this creative process, I engage a vulnerability that deconstructs parts of myself. I struggle with a fundamental set of questions that every creator deals with: Am I good enough? If not, then what character is? This series embodies my grappling with desired gazes and determination, a clash of wills, and mental willpower to face myself.
